Broken (2022)
Faith Brings Beauty Out Of Brokenness
Our 2022 venture into feature film producing is sure to keep you locked on the edge of your seat! Blessed with our largest budget to date, Moment Maker Ministries came together with Double M Digital Media to create an incredible faith-based feature film about a girl who flees from her home after suffering from years of abuse at the hand of her father. The film even stars real life Christian hip hop artist "Urban D". Broken released in 2022 and traveled the nation screening in churches and festivals before releasing for streaming on Amazon Prime and JC+.
UNCUT (2023)
A Found Footage Journey From Addiction To Sobriety
A struggling young addict documents his journey to sobriety during a two-week detox at a remote cabin. There we witness the struggle, the withdrawals, the pain, and the faith that will push him past his addictions. With the help of his sister and a camera man catching all of the action, we witness the fight of a lifetime unfold.
Paradise (2024)
Demon vs Angel. Who's Getting Jenny?
Our 2024 feature film brought out a whole new side to our filmmaking journey. Venturing into the comedic realm, Paradise tells a lighthearted and quirky story of a girl named Jenny who wakes up one morning in a huge empty void. Before long she finds herself being harassed by a prickly demon and an overzealous Angel who stop at nothing to win her over to their respective sides of the isle. Only a Judge can decide Jenny's ultimate fate and why.
Me Too
By Faith We Can Overcome The Pains of Abuse
A unique film for us here at Moment Maker, Me Too is a full-length documentary based on the social media movement of the same name. Shot in 2019 just prior to the Covid-19 pandemic that halted the film industry for nearly two years, the documentary tells the real-life stories of three different women from the industry who share their personal Me Too stories and provide hope and insight to others about their journey to healing and redemption. A 15-minute clip of the film is available for free on our YouTube channel with the full version now up and available for purchase via Amazon Prime!
Social Justice Shorts
Bark
Topic: Racial Equality
Moment Maker Ministries is all about partnering with fellow believers to tell an impactful story. Back in 2019 we partnered with a local writer to bring her story to life in directing BARK. The short film tells the story of a young African American girl who battles through racial divisions within her school and at home. The project traveled through a national festival circuit and collected multiple awards including Best Director. Bark is now available online for streaming purchase via Amazon Prime!
Caleb
Topic: The Dangers of Bullying
Before our shift to strictly faith-based films, our production team was involved in creating several incredible social issue projects for screenings at schools and festivals. One such project was Caleb! We had no idea just how huge our lead actor would make it back when we cast him in 2018. Clayton Johnson did an incredible job for us portraying a teenage boy dealing with the pains of bullying. Soon after starring in our film, Clayton went on to garner roles in Nickelodeon's I Am Frankie, and most recently in season 4 of the popular Netflix series Stranger Things. Caleb is a social/political piece that deals with the issues of bullying and school violence.
Alone
Topic: Suicide
In December of 2017, right at the beginning of our film journey, we wrote and produced a beautiful social drama piece titled Alone. The short film starred influencer Jaime McPeek and detailed the events of a dark and mysterious night were a young college girl named Sarah found herself face to face in a struggle against depression. Dealing with heavy topics such as cutting and suicide, Alone performed very well in its festival run garnering awards that stretched from Best Screenplay, to Best Director, and even a Best Film award win in Orlando. The success of this early project helped catapult our team into the position we are now in, producing and releasing full length feature films.
Kept
Topic: Government Surveillance
In this incredibly artistic approach, Moment Maker and writer/director Anthony Penney created a film that took place almost entirely inside of an 8x8 walk in closet. Utilizing the latest technology in steady cam equipment the film contained only five cuts with shots continuing for long periods of time without cutting. The movie was designed and even marketed through trailers and posters as a horror film, but the true underlying message of the film was one that dealt with a very growing and highly debated topic in America today about our freedoms.
